Performing Engineering Operations NVQ EAL Level 2 NVQ with BTEC Level 2 First Award at Chelmsford College

Course description

This course covers a wide range of engineering skills with a strong focus on the practical elements.

Course content

The student is prepared to take his or her place in a working environment by completing the practical elements of this course together with strong underpinning knowledge from the theory elements. This course includes basic workshop skills and electronic assembly.

Entry requirements

Entry Requirements:

A minimum of 2 GCSEs grade D or above or pass at a Level 1 vocational course.

 

Specific Entry Requirements:

GCSE mathematics at grade D or above.

Assessment

A mixture of continual course assessment, workshop competence and underpinning theory assignments and one externally marked online exam.

To progress to employment, an Apprenticeship or other Further Education.

    • Our Princes Road campus houses many of our practical vocational areas. Laid out over a two-floor site with car parking and good links to buses, the campus boasts a new Electrical and Engineering block.

      A new welcome area with internet cafe, refectory and conservatory area for students to relax and socialise are also available.

      In addition to Electrical and Engineering, our Princes Road campus also houses our Construction workshops and Hospitality and Catering kitchens, with our Princes Room restaurant open to the public.

      The campus also houses a Learning Centre, Skills Development Centre, Assessment Centre and Tutorial Centre.
