Levl 3 in Sport at The Brunts Academy

Course description

This course provides an introduction to the sector for learners looking to build a career in sport, the course is specialist and work-related covering key knowledge and practical skills required to make a successful career in the sport sector. It is made up of several internally assessed modules with subjects ranging from:

* Anatomy and Physiology
* The Physiology of Fitness
* Risk Assessment
* Fitness testing for Sport and Exercise
* Sports Nutrition and Leadership in Sport

The course also includes a range of exciting complimentary enrichment opportunities.

A high level of extra-curricular commitment is expected from students undertaking this course.

At Y12 34 Units are taken to gain the Level 3 certificate and additional units are taken in Y13 to achieve Level 3 the Subsidiary Diploma.

Entry requirements

This course is suitable for students who have a profile of 5 A*-C grades, with a minimum of a B grade in English.

Those with an interest in, or passion for Sport. Previous study of GCSE PE or BTEC First Certificate or Diploma in Sport is recommended.

Learners should be capable of taking responsibility for their own learning and achievement, it is essential that learners meet regular deadlines.
