Entry requirements

To study Sociology at A level we prefer you to have a B grade in the subject and / or a C grade in English Language if you have not studied sociology before.


To complete the A-level pupils will complete 3 external examinations. 

Future opportunities

A Level sociology is a valuable qualification for any career that involves understanding why individuals may act in certain ways in particular situations. It is therefore useful for careers such as journalism, law, social services, education, market research and health care. It also provides the skills needed for positions in management, administration and human resources. Many girls choose to continue to study sociology further at degree level.
