Beauty L1 Diploma at Bishop Auckland College

Course description

If your dream is to become a top Beauty Therapist then this is the place to start. You will learn and practice the skills needed to be successful in your career; whether this is travelling the world, working on a cruise liner, running your own salon or working in the entertainment industry. The opportunities are as broad as your imagination. This full time course is taught over 3 days a week and includes the opportunity for a workplacement when ready. This is a 1 year course based at our Spennymoor Campus which includes Maths, English and Enterprise.

Course content

You will be able practice your skills in our purpose built salons gaining valuable work experience and cover topics such as: Introduction on to Hair and Beauty Follow Health & Safety in the salon Working with others Assist with Reception Facial Make-up / Photographic Make-up Create an image using colour Manicures, Pedicures and Nail Art Face painting Create an image Present an image.

Entry requirements

Future opportunities

This programme aims to help you to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to gain a Level 1 qualification and to become a practising Beauty Therapist.

 

What can I do when I finish?

You may want to explore the Hairdressing courses we have to offer or progress to Level 2 Beauty course.

Further information

All students in the Hairdressing and Beauty department are required to wear a uniform and purchase their own hairdressing kit which can be purchased from the College. (Support may be provided).
