French A Level at Nene Park Academy

Course description

Gain an in-depth knowledge of the culture and society of France and French-speaking countries, and speak a foreign language fluently.

An increasing global world makes French a useful, relevant, lively and hugely rewarding subject.

French is one of the official languages of the United Nations and the European Union. It is spoken in over 50 countries by around 285 million people. Moreover, speaking a foreign language is one of the most sought after skills for employers.

Studying French can be profitably combined with any other subjects, whether you wish to complement your arts subjects, or to contrast with science subjects.

If you want a mix of activities in lessons and an intellectually stimulating course with a strong practical application, you will enjoy studying French at Advanced Level. If you dream of speaking a foreign language fluently and impressively and aspire to study or work abroad, a language will ensure this ambition is within your grasp. We are hoping to build exchange links with schools in France over the next couple of years and will support work experience abroad. Experience the freedom and thrill of stepping into another culture!
