A LEVEL CHEMISTRY at Madeley Academy

Course description


The opportunities for students of Chemistry, on completion of full-time education, are wide-ranging.  There are many possible careers within the scientific world and qualifications in Science subjects are acceptable as an entry into many other careers. 


Course content


You will study 6 modules of work each covering different key concepts of Chemistry.  Assessment is now all at the end of the 2 year course and consists of three written exam papers.  Practical work is assessed throughout the course, providing evidence for a Practical Endorsement.

Entry requirements


  • Students must achieve a minimum of  4 Grade A* - C plus English Language and Mathematics at grade 4
  • Grade A in GCSE Chemistry or Core and Additional Science
  • Satisfactory level of competence in English
  • Grade 7 in Mathematics
