Art and Design Diploma Level 2 at West Suffolk College

Course description

This course will give learners a first step to gaining a national qualification in Art and Design and will introduce them to a wide range of creative techniques and imaginative ideas.

Course content

This is a fast-moving course with innovative assignments - taught by dedicated and professional lecturers. Students will study drawing, painting, 3D design, digital art/illustration, graphic design, illustration, printmaking and animation. The Level 2 Diploma had an outstanding success rate last year. We can guarantee the student a rewarding course that will focus them on progression to Level 3 courses and a rewarding future in the creative industries.

Any student aged 16 to 19 who does not hold a GCSE A* to C (9 to 4 on the new grading structure) or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English by age 16 will need to continue to study these subjects in each academic year.

Entry requirements

A portfolio of Art and Design and a strong interest in the subject is essential. This course offers flexibility on the outcome of a personal interview and selection process with the curriculum staff, with an opportunity for the learner to present their work and discuss their requirements of the course.

Assessment

Students will achieve the prestigious UAL Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design.

Free for 16-18 year olds. 

 

Future opportunities

90% of learners progress to one of our Level 3 qualifications in a creative subject in The School of Art and Design at West Suffolk College. Those wishing to seek employment will be fully supported.
