Greek at The London Oratory School

Course description

This course provides the opportunity to study the language and literature of Classical Greece and to gain an understanding of the culture, politics and social life of Greece in its golden age.

Entry requirements

An assessment of suitability for an AS-level course will be made by interview, together with information about ability, effort, expected performance at GCSE and suitability for an AS-level course.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Ancient Greek or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to ancient Greek by working in areas that relate to heritage, history, languages and culture. This could include working as a Museum Researcher or within areas of tourism such as a Tour Guide in Athens, Greece. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
