The BTEC Level 3 course is made up of a series of twelve units. The units cover topics including, but not limited to, Communication through Art and Design, Visual Recording in Art and Design, Studio Photography, 3D Computer Modelling, Fashion Media, Product Design and Graphics Image Making.
Six of the twelve units are studied throughout Year 12 resulting in A BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary qualification with the remaining six units being studied during Year 13 to achieve the Level 3 Diploma.
Students should have a genuine interest in Art and Design as a career and would ideally have a pass or above in a BTEC Level 2 Art and Design qualification or a C or above in GCSE Art or DT subject. A grade C in English and Maths is also desirable although applicants who do not meet these requirements will be considered on an individual basis.
