Art & Design Level 1 Diploma at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

This one year, full-time course is suitable for anyone who is interested in art and design, who wants to develop their skills and gain a qualification that will help them get a job in this industry. You will learn a variety of art and design techniques which could include 2D and 3D Visual Communication, Printing, Digital Artwork, Painting and Drawing. This creative and dynamic course will teach you to use ideas to explore, develop and produce your own art and design work through a range of assignments that will allow you to try out new ideas, techniques and materials. Maths and English will be at the core of your study programme. 

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs Grade E-G and/or demonstrate an interest in the subject. All places are subject to interview and the applicant bringing a portfolio produced to an appropriate standard. Applicants subject to ind/prob period

Financial information

Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds where needed as a stepping stone to progress to a Full Level 2. Also free to learners who are in receipt of JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) ESA ((Employment Support Allowance, (work related activity)) or Universal Credit (mandated). Where fees are payable you can set up a payment plan that best suits your needs

Future opportunities

Upon completion of this course students can progress to the Level 2 in Art and Design dependent on whether they have reached the standard benchmark for attendance and punctuality.
