Geography GCSE at Warlingham School
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge and understanding of a range of places, environments and geographical patterns at a range of scales from local to global. Students will develop a sense of place and an appreciation of the environment with an awareness of ways in which people and environments interact. There are four modules in the course: • Climate, Environment and People • Water, Landforms and People • People and Places • People, Work and Development Fieldwork is an integral part of this course and students will be expected to take an active part in any fieldwork that is organised. Residential fieldwork takes place in the Peak District in Year 10. How will I be assessed? Two examinations (Tier) 75% of total grade Two pieces of coursework based on fieldwork 25% of total grade
