Performing Arts Diploma with A Levels at Lytham Sixth Form College

Course description

Our Performing Arts Diploma is equivalent to two A levels and must be studied alongside other A levels. A total of 12 units are based around the following areas: Devised Drama; Scripted Performance; Movement; and The Performing Arts Business. Teaching comprises a series of workshops and vocational sessions designed to help students hone their skills as professional performers as well as develop links in the performing arts community. This Diploma, coupled with the accompanying A levels, is excellent preparation for related study at university along with a variety of stage, TV and film work.

Entry requirements

In order to study this A level programme students must gain 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C or an equivalent full Level 2 qualification, including English Language at grade B and Maths at grade C. In addition, students should have gained a grade C or Pass in Drama or Performing Arts.


A Levels are assessed by a mixture of coursework and exams.
