Complementary Therapies Diploma Level 3 at New College Nottingham

Course description

If you're passionate about holistic therapy and enjoy hands on treatments, then this course is for you. 

You'll learn about the principles of aromatherapy, massage and reflexology and develop your practical skills. This course is ideal for anyone who wants a career as an: - aromatherapist, massage therapist or practitioner - reflexologist.

You will be taught in one of the college's working salons, which reflects a realistic environment and you will be expected to work on real clients in a competent way in order to achieve each of the units. 

By the end of this course, you will have the skills to communicate with your clients, plan and deliver complementary therapy treatments, have knowledge of consultation techniques, treatment techniques, and an in-depth knowledge of all Complementary Therapies.

Course content

You learn all about the anatomy and physiology of the body and how to administer different holistic therapies including;    

  • Anatomy & physiology
  • Pathology
  • Body massage
  • Aromatherapy
  • Reflexology
  • Health & Safety

You can expect hands on experience from day one in a calm and relaxing environment and the opportunity to hone your skills in our commercial salons.

Entry requirements

You must have ONE of the following: 

  • Level 2 or 3 Beauty Therapy qualifications plus GCSE English or Maths at grade A*-C & Science at grade A*-D
  • Equivalent qualifications - Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE English and/or Maths

Assessment

Practical observations, assignments, portfolio, and theory-based units & tests.

  • Diploma Level 2 & 3 Beauty therapy
  • Foundation Degree Sports & Fitness or Complimentary therapies
  • Diploma Level 3 Body & Spa Therapy, Nail Technology or Beauty Therapy (general route)

  • Assessor Award
