Environmental Studies AS/A2 Level Double Option for Yr 2 at The Sixth Form College Colchester

Course description

This subject is for those who have a real interest in environmental issues. Scientific study of the environment connects the fields of Biology, Geography, Geology, Chemistry, Physics and Law and applies the concepts to contemporary issues.

Fieldwork and practical activities are an integral part of the course and allow students to develop their understanding and skills.

Topics covered include ecology; conservation in the UK and abroad; the atmosphere and climate change; sustainable living and environmental issues surrounding mining, agriculture, forestry and energy generation.

Entry requirements

Students will normally be expected to have achieved GCSE grade B or better in Additional Science together with passes at grade C or above in English or EnglishLanguage, and Mathematics.
