IT and Computing - Level 3 Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma at Treviglas Community College
To ensure appropriate progress is being made in the subject, student passports will need to be signed off in the interim period.
All year 12 and 13 students by the 4th December and 21st March.
All year 12 students will have to have to their full completed passport signed off by 24th June.Is this the course for me?
You should have a good ICT qualification at GCSE.
You will need to have a track record of meeting deadlines and self-management, as this qualification is pure coursework.
You will need to be committed as this is a two year course
The OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma in IT has been developed to recognise candidates’ skills, knowledge and understanding of the ICT sector and the settings, job roles, principles and values involved.
- Unit 1 Communication and employability skills for IT
- Unit 2 Information systems.
Four optional units from a choice of more than 30 units including website production, computer networks, digital graphics, database design, computer animation, systems security.
A Grade C or above in GCSE ICT. GCSE passes in English and Maths.
All units are assessed by Treviglas teaching staff and externally moderated by an OCR Visiting Moderator. All units are graded: Pass, Merit, Distinction, Distinction *. There are no examinations for this course.
These qualifications are designed to enable candidates to enter employment in the IT sector.
This course also prepares students who wish to study IT and IT related subjects at foundation and degree level. Students studying our previous course have gone on to study degrees in computing, games design, networking and security amongst other courses.
ICT is a versatile subject which would complement many other subject choices.
