Health & Social Care BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Denefield School

Course description

Students will cover a number of mandatory units as well as a wide range of optional and specialist units. There are eight mandatory units and four optional units, which are selected based on the interests and career aspirations of the students.

Mandatory Units include:

  • Developing Effective Communication in Health and Social Care
  • Equality, Diversity and Rights in Health and Social Care
  • Health, Safety and Security in Health and Social Care
  • Entry requirements

    To study some facilitating subjects or BTEC qualifications you will need to have achieved an average of 40-45 points from your GCSE qualifications (mostly Cs and Bs). You will not be able to study any science or mathematics subjects at AS.

    To study BTEC qualifications you will need to have achieved an average of 20-39 points from your GCSE qualifications (mostly Cs and Ds). As a minimum you must have achieved four GCSEs at grade C, including English.Assessment is coursework based and requires students to undertake self-driven research. There is an expectation of students to work both on their own and in groups as well as maintaining an excellent record of attendance
