Course description

Media  Studies is a dynamic and evolving subject which will challenge your analytic skills as well as developing your creativity. As a subject that has roots in communication, culture and society, it is an excellent option to compliment a range of other qualifications.
Media Studies is a suitable choice for students with an inquisitive mind who want to question the world around them; much of the work is theory based its academic nature will develop you as into critical thinker and perceptive media user. In addition,  the production aspects of the course will enable you to apply your understudying of media theory and techniques into your own work across all three Media plaĈžtforms (broadcasting, print and new media).
You will be expected to keep up to date with current affairs and Media debates both in the mainstream news and the wider media landscape (viral news, social media etc). You will also need to engage with production tasks such as location scouting and filming in your own time.
