Information Technology BTEC Level 3 National Certificate at Djanogly City Academy

Course description

The BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in IT is designed for students who are interested in a basic introduction to the study of IT alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in IT.

Course content

You will develop a common core of IT knowledge and study areas such as managing and processing data to support business and using IT to communicate and share information. The objective of this qualification is to give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in data management and social media in business. This will enable you to progress to further study in the IT sector or other sectors.

Entry requirements

Grade 5 in GCSE English and GCSE Maths


Four units — two internally-assessed and two externallyassessed. 

Future opportunities

When studied alongside other Level 3 qualifications such as mathematics, physics, science, arts or technology, the qualification gives you the opportunity to progress to a degree in an IT discipline or a degree where IT related skills and knowledge may be advantageous.
