Course description

You will learn additional skills to broaden your knowledge for work in this profession. You will learn to install, service, maintain and commission domestic hot water, cold water, central heating and sanitation systems, plumbing and heating systems, gas-fired warm air appliances. Ideal if you are employed in the plumbing industry and would like to deveop your skills and gain a higher level qualification.

Entry requirements

You should have a relevant Level 2 qualification and be employed in the industry.

Assessment

Your progress will be assessed by a series of online exams and practical projects.

Future opportunities

After completing the course you could progress onto the gas safe course or you may wish to consider some of the short renewable energy courses that the college offers. This can lead onto specialist areas and a degree programme in building engineering services. Career opportunities are worldwide with consultant building service engineers earning over 100,000 pounds. Plumbers are one of the highest paid trades within the construction industry. The sector is an enjoyable exciting area to work offering secure employment for your future.
