Economics and Business at The Elizabethan Academy

Course description

Course Content 2 Units at 'AS' level, including:

Unit 1 Developing New Business Ideas: Students will study motivation for business start up, financial aspects of business start up, characteristics of entrepreneurs, new business ideas and strategy.

Unit 2 Business Economics: Students will study markets, business operations, macroeconomic environment and change, uncertainty and risk

2 Units at 'A2' level, including:

Unit 3 International Business: Students will study the world of international business including key players in the world economy, interdependence, globalisation and multinationals.

Unit 4 The Wider Economic Environment and Business: Students will study the UK economy, government decision making and intervention, market failure, economic policy, regulation of markets and the welfare state.

Entry requirements

You will need at least 5 GCSEs at A* - C (including GCSE Mathematics and/or GCSE English Language). 'AS': At least grade C in GCSE English and Mathematics A2': At least grade D in 'AS' Economics and Business
