Course description

This qualification recognises the skills, knowledge and understanding that would be needed by those working in an educational setting, supporting teaching and learning.

The Level 3 qualification is aimed at those who are experienced, have some autonomy in their role, a varied range of responsibilities and some opportunities for decision making overseen by the teacher.

Course content

The Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools framework comprises:

  • Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 3
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities 
  • Personal Thinking and Learning Skills
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT Level 2

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements and prior achievement will be accredited.


You will be assessed continually throughout your learning to confirm your competence milestones and achievements.
