Business Studies at The Joseph Whitaker School

Course description

This syllabus encourages candidates to develop a critical understanding of business organisations, to appreciate the context in which they operate, the markets they serve and the process of adding value. It is based upon a problem solving approach and candidates are encouraged to develop an understanding of the business environment and the impact this environment may have on the decisions taken by businesses. Candidates are also expected to critically analyse the decisions taken by businesses and the reasons for those decisions. Case studies form an integral part of the learning process and each AS Level exam consists of a series of supported multiple choice questions and a short case-study.
