Beauty Therapy Diploma Level 3 at St Helens College
This advanced level course is suitable for those wanting to expand their knowledge and skill set to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed beauty specialist.
Throughout this course, you will develop your understanding of anatomy, how to successfully promote and sell retail products and how to provide a diverse range of beauty treatments including Swedish massage, skin and body analysis and face and body electrical treatments.
During this course, you will cover the following units:
- Health and safety in the salon
- Client care and consultation
- Body analysis
- Skin analysis
- Swedish massage therapy
- Body electrical treatments
- Facial electrical treatments
- Electrical science
- Mechanical massage
- Anatomy and physiology for the face and body systems
There is also an opportunity to complete additional units including, electrical epilation and individual eyelash extensions.
You should have a level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy . or equivalent.
English and maths forms an important part of your future, ensuring you achieve the best success in your chosen career. But don't worry, if you haven't got the desired grades, we will still have a course available for you.
You will be assessed through ongoing practical observations carried out within a realistic working environment, portfolio evidence, external examinations and a graded synoptic assessment.
f you are a school leaver, aged 16‐18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2016), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will have the opportunity to progress onto the level 3 Diploma in Spa Therapy, level 3 Diploma in Nail Technologies, FdA in Spa Therapies and Management or HNC in Hair and Beauty Management.
Alternatively, you may wish to travel the world working on cruise ships, develop skills in a local salon or spa, embrace the rewards of retail sales or even grow your own business.
As part of this programme you are required to wear a uniform. There is also a kit required to complete your assessments which can be purchased from a recommended supplier. You may be eligible for financial support to cover these costs.
