Physical Education AS level at The Campion School

Course description

The course is made up of two mandatory units at AS and two further units at A2. Both years contain a practical element, however, the qualification is weighted heavily on the theory side which is in complete contrast to GCSE Physical Education where it is mainly practical based. Year Two: UNIT G453 Historical Studies Popular recreation Rational recreation 19th Century public schools Athleticism Past curriculums Sports Psychology Individual aspects of performance Group dynamics Mental preparation Exercise and Sport Physiology; Energy Health components of physical fitness Principles of training Performance enhancement

Entry requirements

At least 6 GCSE’s at grades A*-C. Minimum of a B grade in GCSE Physical Education. Attractive to students who are confident with exams. Good organisation skills and ability to work to strict deadlines.

Future opportunities

This A level can provide you with the opportunity to go on to university and study sport related degrees such as Sport and Exercise Science, Physiotherapy, Teaching, Sports Nutrition, Sport Massage and many more!
