A Level Product Design at The King's Academy

Course description

The course is a natural progression for students who have already taken a GCSE in Resistant Materials, Engineering, or Graphics. It is a design-and-make course, with product outcomes that reflect an appreciation of the complex relationship between design, materials, manufacture and marketing.

This is a modular course, where each unit is individually assessed. Graphics is an integral part of the course, with three dimensional outcomes expected for the project work. A variety of generic material will be used, allowing students freedom to express themselves. CAD/CAM solutions will be included in the overall delivery of ICT.
