C Skills Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Bench/Site Joinery at Selby College

Course description

Developed in response to the industry’s request for broader training to improve the skills, knowledge and understanding of the future workforce, this course provides you with a basic introduction to Site Joinery.

Course content

Units to be studied will include:

• Health and Safety

• Manufacturing routine joinery products

• Mark out from setting out details

• Produce setting out details for routine joinery produces

Please note: If you have not achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English and/or Maths you will be required to continue studying these alongside your college course

Entry requirements

Standard Level 2 entry requirements apply. Alternatively, you will have a Level 1 Diploma in Basic Construction Skills.

Assessment

90% Coursework, 10% Exam

Financial information

Students will be given the option to attend a CSCS card test at an additional cost of £30* to allow them to gain access to construction sites and possible work placement opportunities.

Future opportunities

On successful completion you may be able to move up to BTEC Level 3 National Subsidiary Diploma in Construction and Built Environment.
