Pharmacy Services Level 3 Apprenticeship at Mediprospects

Course description

If you are working or want to work in a pharmacy then this apprenticeship is perfect for you. Working as a pharmacy assistant you will prepare, supply and dispense medicines and products prescribed for patients under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. You will gain strong skills in customer service, and many transferable skills that will enable you to progress into many other fields of work.

Course content

A qualification in pharmacy services will give you the necessary skills and expertise desperately required in pharmacies, NHS and private hospitals, doctor’s surgeries or opticians. The course will cover the tasks performed by a pharmacy assistant and will help develop a professional working style, safe working practices, awareness of the work environment and communicating effectively with colleagues and customers.

You will be assessed using a combination of assignments, online tests, oral questioning, a portfolio of evidence and by practical demonstration and observation of your on-the-job activities. You will attend classes for a few hours one day a week, and spend a minimum of 30 hours per week at work.

Future opportunities

Armed with a Level 3 Pharmacy Services qualification, you will be in have everything you need to a highly desirable prospect within the industry and be able to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Furthermore, you will be able to acquire further, higher education qualifications to become a Pharmacy Technician or indeed, a Pharmacist.
