Course description

The qualification develops candidate’s skills, knowledge and competency. It is suitable for those members of the school workforce who undertake support work roles, including: Teaching Assistants, Technicians, Midday Supervisors, Learning Support Assistants.

Course content

The Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools framework comprises: • Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 2 • Employee Rights and Responsibilities • Personal Thinking and Learning Skills • Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT Level 1

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements and prior achievement will be accredited.


You will be assessed continually throughout your learning to confirm your competence milestones and achievements.

Future opportunities

The Apprenticeship provides an excellent foundation to L3/HE or future career aspirations in teaching and specialist support in schools and colleges.
