Course description

The ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Massage focuses on a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge required in the Complementary Therapy Industry. This qualification is designed to provide you with the skills needed for employment within this area.

Course content

You will be taught units such as:

  • Provide body massage
  • Anatomy, physiology and pathology
  • Principles and practice of Complementary Therapies
  • Business practice
  • Healthy eating and well- being for clients

You will be taught using a combination of practical skills and theory, which will lead to working on external clients in a realistic working environment. This course is designed for people with a keen interest in treating members of the public

Entry requirements

You need to have achieved a level of education equivalent to five GCSEs at grades A*- C; however exemptions may be made for adult returners with experience of the work place.


This qualification will be both internally and externally assessed. This will include case studies and assignments as well as a final practical and theory exam.

Future opportunities

This qualification enables you to operate your own clinic or home visiting practice, or to go on to employment in Health Clubs, Spas, Cruise Liners and various aspects of the Care Industry. You could also progress to other equivalent qualifications such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology or Complementary Therapies.
