Early Years Education Introduction CACHE Level 2 Certificate at Harlow College

Course description

You will study the key basic principles of childcare and have an opportunity to undertake a work placement in a childcare setting.

Course content

This course includes 250 hours of placement, enabling the student to work with babies from 0-1 and children within primary schools, nurseries and with childminders. You will also complete small sessions with children such as PE, snack time and bottle making. You will work with virtual babies, complete a first aid course and produce a personal and professional portfolio.

Entry requirements

£60 for educational visits and £60 for resources. There will be a charge of £44 for a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.


Placement/portfolio (written work/presentation).

Financial information

Memory stick, two lever arch folders and general college resources. There will be additional costs for educational visits, plus a charge of £44 for a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Future opportunities

Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator). Employment as a primary school teacher or nursery teacher.
