ASDAN - C.O.P.E. at Stockley Academy

Course description

This subject offers a different approach to student learning. This course aims to enable students to develop and demonstrate a range of skills and gain credits for what they learn from the wide variety of activities both inside and outside formal education. This course can help students manage their own learning, broaden their experience, develop their employablity skills and personal effectiveness and recognise personal achievements. You will work towards the ASDAN Certification of Peorsonal Effectiveness (C.O.P.E.) Level 1 and Level 2 which are equivalent to a GCSE E and B grade respectively. There are many practical elements to this course. You will undertake a number of challenges chosen from a range of 12 modules. There are some practical elements which will include projects based on several of the following: - Hillingdon Outdoor Activity Centre - A residential experience - Work related learning skills with local industry - Team building with the Army - Visit to local leisure facilities - Work about the Grand Union Canal - Local theme parks This is an exciting course, with a broad and varied content. You will learn how to take responsibility for planning, organizing and carrying out a number of challenges. You will develop and provide evidence of work with others, improving own learning and performance and problem solving. You will also develop and provide evidence of the skills of research, discussion and presentation.
