Course description

If you have a creative flair for hair design, an apprenticeship in hairdressing provides the ideal route to a rewarding career. This programme could open lots of opportunities to work in salons home or abroad, become self-employed or work in entertainment, hospitals and armed forces or as a freelance visiting people’s homes. This qualification teaches essential skills required for you to provide a continued high level of hair styling to suit all salon requirements including cutting, styling and colouring techniques. Professionalism is also an integral part of this qualification to ensure you deliver a high quality customer experience. The course covers a range of areas including - Mandatory units: Provide hairdressing consultations and Creatively style and dress hair. Additional units: Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques, Creatively colour and lighten hair, Provide colour correction services, Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities. This course will involve 20% of your time to be dedicated to off the job training.

Entry requirements

NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing Level 2. Initial assessment and diagnostic testing on maths and English will take place prior to commencement of apprenticeship.
