Human Biology A Level at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School

Course description

At no other stage in history have we seen human knowledge advance so quickly, from developments in Cell Biology and Genomics to the continued discovery of new species of living organism. At BRGS we aim to make Biology exciting and relevant.

Learning at all levels involves a variety of style and experiences, allowing students to develop the associated investigative and analytical skills. Experiments, micro-biological techniques, dissection and fieldworks are all used to enhance theoretical understanding and students are encouraged to adopt a critical approach to scientific evidence and method. Model making, role play and animations also enliven work in the lab. Our courses are stimulating and encourage intellectual curiosity, while developing a range of essential skills.
