Course description
In this course you can expect to focus on the important role of Religion in our society and can influence what people think, feel, and believe. Through studying Religious Studies, you get a broad look at how religion and spirituality form the basis of our culture. Religious Studies encourages you to reflect on and develop your own values, opinions and attitudes in the light of your learning.
Course content
Religious studies builds many skills such as: analytical and strategic thinking, research skills, development of conceptual ideas, an ability to understand the impact of conflicting ideologies, and the development of appreciation of human diversity, belief systems, cultural and spiritual experiences.
Entry requirements
GCSE grade B in Religious Studies or grade 5 English Language.
Assessment
Component 1 - A Study of Religion (33.3%), written examination, 2 hours
Component 2 – Philosophy of Religion (33.3%), written examination, 2 hours
Component 3 – Religion and Ethics (33.3%), written examination, 2 hours
