Health & Social Care BTEC Level 2 First Diploma at West Herts College
Do you want to make a positive difference to people’s lives? This course will allow you to develop your understanding and knowledge of care professions, setting you up for a rewarding and fulfilling career in the health and social care sector.
Subject areas include:
- Lifespan development
- Individual needs
- Communicating in the health and social care sector
- Anatomy and physiology for health and social care
Alongside your studies you will have the opportunity to improve your English and maths and take part in GAP work placements to develop the skills employers are looking for.
3 GCSEs (A*-D), including English language and maths, or successful completion of Level 1 programme. You will need to complete a DBS check and attend a course introduction meeting.
Progress to Level 3 – further study and training will open the door to careers such as social work, residential care management, housing and the probation service. Opportunities for employment straight away will include working in care homes, community work and the voluntary sector, plus classroom support, hospitals and primary care trusts.
