Early Years Education Level 2 at The College of Richard Collyer

Course description

Students who achieve this qualification can at present enter employment in the Early Years sector at Level 2 or progress to Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (EYE). This course will suit those seeking a career in Early Years or who later aim to enter teaching, social work or nursing and related areas. You will learn how to promote the learning and development and care of children within the age range 0- 7yrs. It will give you a secure foundation of knowledge and practical skills to work with young children.

This course has a very practical application and leads you towards a qualification that meets the Full & Relevant Criteria for this vocational sector. Direct entry to employment upon achievement may be in the roles of nursery assistant, nanny, pre-school assistant or classroom assistant. in settings such as Day Nurseries and Children’s Centres, Pre-schools, Private Homes, Schools, After-School clubs and Holiday Play & Activity schemes.

This is a 1 year course.

Entry requirements

Average GCSEs of D grade with a GCSE C English Language + Maths D grade preferred. Satisfactory references and a completed and current DBS certificate.

A commitment & practical ability to work with children & young people. (Practical ability will be assessed through prior to enrolment)

The willingness and ability to undertake practical training days in a range of Early Years settings in Horsham & the surrounding area. This may incur travel costs.
