Geography A Level at Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy
In Geography we follow the AQA specification and cover a range of contemporary Human and Physical Geography supported by four days of experiences in the field.

Those choosing Geography need to be highly motivated to learn more about the world around them, this will take the form of wider reading, research and keeping abreast of current affairs. Geographers need to be highly literate as well as be in possession of strong mathematical skills as there is complex statistical work in both the exams and the independent investigation. Alongside this, we hope for confident independent learners who are highly organised.
You will sit two external exams lasting one hour thirty minutes each which are equally weighted at 50% of the qualification. Both papers contain a range of question styles including multiple choice, Maths questions based on Fieldwork and an extended 20 mark essay.Year 13
These papers use the same range of question styles but are each worth 40% of the qualification and last two and a half hours.
The final 20% of the A-level is an individual 3 – 4,000 word Fieldwork investigation based on any aspect of the course.
Every year a number of our young people follow their A-level with an undergraduate degree in Geography as the discipline is recognised for the breadth of skills required to master the queen of the sciences. There are jobs in conservation and the Environment, Business and Finance, Accountancy, Urban
