Creative Media Production Level 2 Diploma at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College*

Course description

This course will develop and build on your skills and creativity. It will extend your knowledge of media by developing your research, design and production skills.

Course content

This practical course has three phases. To start with, you'll learn a set of key media skills, including editing with Photoshop and Premier and how to handle a range of DSLRs and video cameras. Next, you will work as part of a team to create a media project in response to a brief. Finally, you get the chance to design and create your own media product, which could be anything from a short film to a photo gallery or website.

Entry requirements

Level 1 or 2 qualification, Introductory Certificate in a related subject, 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (grade D), or related work experience for older students.

Assessment

Coursework is set with clear regular feedback and structured achievable targets. Regular individual tutorials and group discussions will also be held throughout the course.

Future opportunities

Level 3 Diploma in Media or Computer Games Design.

Students can progress onto higher level courses that could lead into careers in broadcasting, sound production, publishing or film, video or TV production.
