Hospitality BTEC Level 3 at Highbury College
This exciting qualification is ideal for anyone interested in working in this expanding sector. The programme recognises the growing importance and role that hospitality plays throughout the UK and globally and is aimed at those who have the motivation,
attitude and drive to develop their career in this sector, with a particular focus on careers in hotels, restaurants, events and food and beverage service.
The programme will improve personal learning and thinking skills, including confidence in your ability to go out into the workplace. It will also develop your analytical, research, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
You will study a range of different units where you will learn about the hospitality industry, supervisory skills, customer service and food and drink service, to name just a few.
To support the work you do we will take you on industry visits and invite in guest speakers. You will also undertake work experience and will be given many opportunities to add value to your CV.
You will require five GCSEs A*- C including English and Maths or a full Level 2 qualification with literacy and numeracy at an appropriate level.
You will learn through a mixture of taught lessons, group work and practical activities and this will be applied to actual events and activities within the Hospitality industry.
Assessment is via coursework which may take the form of written assessment, short presentations on given topics, role-play or group work for each unit.
You could progress on to a Foundation Degree at Highbury, a Degree at university or go in to employment.
