Health & Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF) CACHE Level 3 Diploma at South Tyneside College

Course description

This is a full-time, practical, work-related course that is completed in one year. This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in a senior role with adults in health and social care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures.

Entry requirements

Completion of the CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care. 

A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

It is suitable for all those who wish to work or are working in an unsupervised role with adults in health and social care environments.


The course is assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence and written assignments.

Future opportunities

The CACHE Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services.

Job roles can include; Care Assistant and Senior Care Assistants in residential settings or supported living. Healthcare Support Workers in Community and Primary Care Environments. Healthcare Assistants in Acute Health Environments. Care Support Workers and Senior workers in Domiciliary Services.
