Physical Education, AS/A2 at Christ The King College
Course description
The Photography course is stimulating and challenging, encouraging students to consider what makes a good photograph and teaching them how to produce their own memorable images.
AS Photography students use compact digital and Single Lens Reflex (SLR) film cameras and lenses, black and white processing, printing and darkroom experimentation as part of this course. There is an increasing emphasis on digital photography and Photoshop manipulation. At A2 students use DSLRs, tripods and flash.
Visits to exhibitions inform the course and students are encouraged to develop their own ideas about artists' and photographers' work through independent research. Creativity and innovation are encouraged. For example, photography display methods need not be restricted to the traditional flat print.
