Course description

Physics is the study of the basic principles that regulate the way our Universe works, from the behavious of the sub-atomic particles to how the Universe began. If you are interested in the world we inhabit and the workings of the devices we live with, then Physics is a subject you should study. The course is modular, consisting of six modules. A2 UNITS : Rise and Fall of the Clockwork Universe •Models and Rules •Matter in Extremes Fields and Particle Pictures •Fields Fundamental •Particles of Matter •Research Report Reseaching Physics (Coursework) •Practical Investigation (experimental) •Research Report EXTRA FEATURES: A new course designed by the Institute of Physics with very up-to-date examples and applications. The course has a very strong IT element, including computer modelling at A2. A strong practical element. Very good exam results.

POSSIBLE PROGRESSION: Physics is often a requirement for careers relating to the Physical Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. A level Physics is highly thought of by both employers and higher education institutionsYou could take this course with other advanced level courses such as Chemistry, Biology or Electronics to prepare for higher education in a science related subject or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to Physics such as Science Technician or Electronics Engineer. The course will also help you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
