Functional Skills Entry Level/Level 1 (Maths) at Cromwell Community College

Course description

Everyone should have the opportunity to succeed in work and life. Practical skills in English, mathematics and ICT can help make that possible. We all need a range of skills to succeed in our jobs and in our lives. Functional skills are the practical skills in English, information and communication technology (ICT) and mathematics that allow people to work confidently, effectively and independently in life. Functional skills qualifications are: a part of all Foundation Learning Programs.They are also available as stand-alone qualifications.

Course content

It is expected that most Foundation Learning pupils will begin their functional skills learning at entry level.This will ensure that essential basic skills are acquired and that pupils are confident about applying their skills in English, maths and ICT.


All students will take functional skills exams.Students can retake exams if this is needed.
