Course description

The ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies focuses on a range of practical skills and the underpinning knowledge required in this industry. This qualification is designed to provide you with the skills you need for employment within this area.

Course content

You will be taught units such as:

  • Providing Body Massage
  • Providing Reflexology Anatomy, physiology and pathology
  • Providing Aromatherapy
  • Principles and practice of Complementary Therapies
  • Business practice
  • Healthy eating and well-being for clients

You will be taught using a combination of practical skills and theory which will lead to working on external clients in a realistic working environment. This is an intensive course designed for people with a keen interest in treating members of the public.

Entry requirements

You need to have achieved a level of education equivalent to five GCSEs at grades A*- C; however exemptions may be made for adult returners with experience of the work place.


This qualification will be both internally and externally assessed. This will include case studies and assignments as well as a final practical and theory exam.

Future opportunities

This qualification enables you to operate your own clinic or home visiting practice or go on to employment in Health Clubs, Spas, Cruise Liners and various aspects of the Care Industry.

Further information

You will need to wear the recommended professional uniform with flat black shoes, and you will also need an Aromatherapy kit.
