Engineering Level 2 BTEC First Diploma at Northumberland College

Course description

This course is for students who wish to follow a career in mechanical/manufacturing engineering and electrical/electronic engineering.

Course content

You will learn how to use engineering manuals and workshop diagrams and learn about Computer Aided Design (CAD), basic electronics and welding. Ideal if you are considering a career in mechanical/manufacturing or electrical/electronic engineering.

Entry requirements

You should have four GCSEs at Grade D or above including English, Maths and Science or a relevant Level 1 qualification.

Assessment

Your progress will be assessed at regular intervals for each subject. They will need to be completed within a specified amount of time then handed in by a deadline date. There are no examinations for this course.

Future opportunities

After completing the course successfully you will be encouraged to consider progression onto a BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering or you could continue your career by gaining employment or seeking an apprenticeship.
