- aesthetic understanding and critical judgement
Students are encouraged to develop an independence of mind so they can refine

outcomes.
In Photography the focus is initially on developing students’ understanding on how
a camera works, both traditional and digital. This is followed by darkroom practical
development work.
There is also comprehensive teaching of Photoshop. This understanding then
enables students to produce and create a range of creative digital outcomes.
With a real focus on critical understanding, students produce sketchbook journals as well as finished outcomes.

Entry requirements

Evidence of ability demonstrated with examples of work may be accepted in place
of a high grade GCSE but usually students will have obtained at least grade B.
