Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles IMIAL Diploma Level 2 at Bracknell and Wokingham College

Course description

This course is for you if you wish to work in the service and repair sector or progress onto a higher level of qualification at college.

Course content

Units include: • Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment • Routine light vehicle maintenance • Light vehicle engine mechanical, lubrication and cooling system units and components • Light vehicle fuel, ignition, air and exhaust system units and components • Overhauling light vehicle engine mechanical units • Each one of these units also has a skills component, which is assessed through a variety of practical tasks in the workshop

Entry requirements

• Three GCSEs at grade C in Maths, English and Science or have done the IMIAL Light Vehicle Level 1 course and have a keen interest in motor vehicle servicing and repair

Future opportunities

• Further education - Light vehicle IMIAL Level 3 course • An Apprenticeship or Employment in the service and repair industry
