Certificate in Team Leading Level 2 (QCF) at York Learning - City of York Council

Course description

Management is the Supervision of a team of staff. Whether you are new to Management and Supervision, or are already established within the industry; by learning you can improve your abilities and develop your understanding. Learning doesn’t only give you the basics for doing the job but also prepares you to meet new challenges when they arise.

York Learning offers a variety of employment opportunities to support your learning and NVQ. Through this learning you will achieve nationally recognised qualifications which will help you move towards more responsibility and grow to achieve more senior posts in the industry over time. York Learning works in partnership with employers across the York and North Yorkshire area. We match your skills and interests with employer requirements and, providing you both agree, your learning and employment can begin at the same time. If you are already employed then a learning assessment can be arranged and you can join an appropriate programme.

Entry requirements

You do not need any previous experience to start learning and for those with experience there are opportunities to start at a higher level qualification.

Can I do this area of work?

No-one starts out with all the skills required but they do start with the right attitude. If you answer “yes” to all, or most, of the following questions then Management could well be suited to you: Am I:

  • confident?
  • adaptable?
  • motivated?
  • Independent?
  • honest and reliable?
  • willing to help people?
  • committed to personal development and learning?
  • good at monitoring others?
  • willing to take responsibility?
  • able to identify improvements?

A Trainer/Assessor will visit you at work to help you and to ensure you are supported throughout your programme. This includes initial visits to make sure you fully understand the NVQ qualification you are working towards, what to do, and how your work will be assessed against nationally recognised standards.
