AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting (AQ2016 Specification) at Waltham Forest College

Course description

If you wish to pursue a career in Finance and Accounting, then this course would be an ideal course for you. You may already be working in the financial sector, looking to re-train or looking to gain entry into the industry. Either way, this course will provide you with an opportunity to gain your first level professional qualification within this field and give you the ability to develop your skills to an advanced level.

Entry requirements

Upon application you will be invited into the College to take the following assessments:
English assessment
Math assessment
Short skills assessment
1:1 interview with a member of the AAT team
All students will be required to register as a member of the AAT and this will be discussed during enrolment.


All students will be required to register as a member of the AAT

Assessment

All the study units will be assessed through AAT certified computer-based assessments with the exception of Work Effectively in Finance.

Future opportunities

Upon successfully completing your course, you may seek employment in the Accounting and Finance sector and/or progress to the Advanced Diploma in Accounting to continue to develop your skills.

      Trains run to Walthamstow Central from Liverpool Street station (a bus can then be taken to the College, see below). Wood Street station is approximately a 10-minute walk from the College.

      Tube:

      The Victoria Line ends at Walthamstow Central, which is approximately a 15-minute walk to the College. Alternatively, you can get a bus, see below.

      Bus:

      From Walthamstow Central:Bus 275 stops outside the College, 212 stops across the road from the College (Shernhall Street). Buses 97, 357, 34 or 215 stop at the 'Bell Corner' (junction of Hoe Street and Forest Road). From here, the College is approximately five-minute walk.

      From Blackhorse Road Tube Station: Bus 123 also stops outside the College on route between Tottenham and Ilford
