Course description

Customer service employees are those staff whose primary responsibility is to deliver service direct to customers. They need to have a good knowledge of the company's products and services and be able to communicate with people in differing ways according their needs.You will be taught how to prepare yourself to deliver good customer service on a face to face basis, on the telephone or via email, how to give customers a good impression of youself and your organisation, how to answer customers' enquiries and deal with any queries they may have.This qualification is very flexible in its structure, enabling the organisation and individual to choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role.Like all vocational training the qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to your ability to perform a range of tasks connected with your work. You will plan a programme of development and assessment with an assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence and knowledge.

Entry requirements

Ideally grade C or above in GCSE English, Maths and ICT or Level One Literacy and Numeracy. A basic skills assessment will take place when you come into Martec training.

Future opportunities

Progression onto an Advanced Apprenticeship is possible after completion depending on individual ability.
